JIL SANDER

Wesselburen
Jil Sander starts her working life studying fabrics.
A few years later, she decides to be a fashion editor and starts designing clothes as a freelance stylist.
In 1974, her own collection is born.
Thanks to her journalism experience, she had had a strong vision about what she wanted to achieve.
Her style is a mix of pieces with « class & posture ».
She likes « to see forward in fashion without being futuristic ».
In 1997, her first collection for men in Italy is shown.
She designs elegant, sober and modern clothings that were also a part of the minimalist trends of the 80s/90s.
Queen of the minimum she uses neutral colors, monochrome, gray, beige, and navy blue. For her, the essence of luxury is quality.
From 2005 to 2012, Raf Simons serves as artistic director.
